Roster · v13.2

No Filter Fighters Characters

All eleven playable fighters, who they are in the Martin series, and the supers named on the creator's itch.io page and devlogs.

No Filter Fighters currently has eleven playable characters. Each fighter can also be chosen as a sidekick; a name can only appear once in a match. Most of the roster is taken from the cast of the Martin TV series rather than invented for the game.

Roster and stage names follow the creator's itch.io page and devlogs. If a name differs from what you see in game, the in-game screen is correct.

Sources disagree about the roster size for a simple reason: it changed twice inside three days. v12.9 added Bruh-Man, v13.2 added Bob from Marketing, and anything that lists fewer than eleven characters was written before those two builds.

The main cast of No Filter Fighters

M

Martin Payne

Main cast

The show's lead and the obvious starting character. The creator listing names a cartoon Martin Mic Drop among his supers. If you have never played the game before, start here and pick a sidekick you already know from the series.

Signature super: Cartoon Martin Mic Drop
G

Gina Waters

Main cast

Martin's partner and the second half of the show's central pairing. Use her if you want a familiar face from the apartment scenes rather than one of the later joke characters.

P

Pam James

Main cast

Gina's best friend, and the character whose verbal sparring with Martin drove a large share of the show's comedy.

Among the supers named on the game page: Party Over Here
C

Cole Brown

Main cast

The laid-back member of the group.

Among the supers named on the game page: Big Shirley
T

Tommy Strawn

Main cast

Martin's best friend, and — for anyone who watched the show — the source of its longest-running job joke.

Among the supers named on the game page: Job Roulette
S

Sheneneh Jenkins

Main cast

Martin's neighbour, one of the show's most quoted characters, and the roster's most distinctive design. If you are coming to the game because of a clip, there is a good chance this is the fighter you saw.

Recurring roles and later additions

V

Varnell Hill

Recurring

Martin's talk-show host persona from the series. Fights on The Varnell Hill Show stage; the v12.9 devlog lists Catfish Cannon as his new super.

Super: Catfish Cannon
D

Dragonfly Jones

Recurring

Martin's martial-arts persona, complete with his assistant Kenji. He fights on Dragonfly's Dojo, one of the nine stages on the current build.

Stage named after him: Dragonfly's Dojo
J

Jerome

Recurring

The smooth-talking ice man from the show. The creator listing highlights freeze combos as his identity in the fight, which is why he plays differently from the rest of the sitcom roster.

B

Bruh-Man

v12.9

The fifth-floor neighbour from the series, added as a playable fighter in v12.9. His stage is The Fifth Flo', which shipped in the same update with its own theme, Detroit 4 Life.

Named in the v12.9 devlog: Sammich Toss, Fifth Flo' Shortcut, "Ain't Nuttin'" counter, Slo-Bop Sammich Storm, FROM THE FIFTH FLO'
BM

Bob from Marketing

v13.2

The newest fighter, added in v13.2. He throws pizza boxes, builds Hype by dancing — the meter powers up his next pizza — and one of his supers starts when he answers the phone. He also brings The Corporate Party stage. Treat him as a current-build addition rather than a core sitcom regular.

Supers: WHAT'S HAPPENING?! · THIS PARTY IS OUT OF CONTROL!

Fighters and sidekicks: one name per match

Every fighter on the roster can also be picked as a sidekick, and a single rule shapes every team you build: a name can only appear once in a match. Choose Martin as your fighter and Martin is gone from the sidekick list — for you and for your opponent.

That rule matters more than it sounds. There are eleven names and two slots, so after you lock in a fighter you are choosing a second kit out of the ten that are left. You cannot pick a character twice to double up on what they already do well.

Build the team in that order. Pick the fighter whose feel you like, then use the sidekick slot to cover what that fighter is missing rather than to repeat it. A sidekick that never gets called is a slot you spent for nothing, so call it early and find out what it adds.

Stages

The current listing ships with nine stages, each modelled on a location from the series or a later joke set:

StageWhere it comes from
Martin's ApartmentThe show's main set — where most episodes open and most arguments happen.
The Varnell Hill ShowVarnell's talk show, the frame for Martin's interview-persona sketches.
Club GTDThe club the group goes out to.
Sheneneh's SalonSheneneh's workplace and one of the show's most quoted settings.
Nipsey'sThe local spot the characters eat and argue at.
Dragonfly's DojoThe martial-arts persona's training ground.
The Playa's BallFrom the show's party and dating scenes.
The Fifth Flo'Bruh-Man's floor. Added in v12.9 with its own theme, Detroit 4 Life.
The Corporate PartyBob's stage. Added in v13.2 with Bob's own theme.

Every stage has its own theme music, and stage choice is not just wallpaper. The v13.2 devlog calls the mechanic NEXT LEVEL: uppercut your opponent up through the ceiling to the floor above, or slam them down through the floor to the floor below. Martin's Apartment sits directly beneath Bruh-Man's Fifth Flo'.

Two fighters in three days is why older guides list an eight or nine-character roster. If a video shows fewer names than this page, it was recorded before v12.9 — the in-game roster is always the final word.

Which No Filter Fighters character should you pick first?

  • Brand new to fighting games: Martin Payne — the lead, and the character the rest of the roster is written around.
  • Here for a specific joke: Sheneneh Jenkins, Tommy Strawn or Bruh-Man — pick the face you actually remember from the show.
  • Want the newest kit: Bob from Marketing — added in the current version, with a Hype meter of his own.
  • Want a different rhythm: Jerome — freeze combos, not a standard punch-kick sitcom fighter.

Whatever you pick as the fighter, pick a different name as the sidekick. The same character cannot occupy both slots.
